FPV is an abbreviation for First Person View. It's a new way to play with remote-controlled aircraft or vehicle models by adding a wireless camera transmission device, allowing the operator to view and control the model from the ground. Traditionally, operators hold a remote control and look at the model from a distance to control its attitude and perform various actions. With the miniaturization of electronic devices, wireless video transmission equipment can be mounted on models with limited size and weight, enabling first-person perspective control. The operator can control the model aircraft or vehicle from a pilot's viewpoint. In the model aircraft field, FPV specifically refers to racing drones. Racing drones are high-speed multi-rotor aircraft, characterized by their small size and high speed compared to common aerial photography drones. This technology has long been used in high-tech fields such as drones and computer-guided missiles, and is also applied to DIY recreational tools.

There are many FPV enthusiasts in China, and model aircraft can be modified for FPV use. With the addition of a flat panel antenna and remote-controlled range extender, the longest recorded FPV flight distance in China is 80.6 kilometers, while the longest recorded flight distance abroad is 113 kilometers. The fastest speed reached is 150 kilometers per hour, and the flight altitude reached is 4,685 meters. The addition of an automatic cruise system, an OSD video synthesis system (displaying battery voltage, current, and charge level), a GPS positioning device (displaying takeoff coordinates, distance, direction, altitude, and speed), and a return-to-home device in case of loss of control further enhances the FPV's operability.
